2024 Pool Opening

Stop by and pick up your key between 10am-12pm. Please note that there will be a new key for both the pool gate and the tennis courts.

We’re looking forward to the pool opening as it’s a great place for people to gather and cool off!  We’ve received so much positive feedback from members in regards to the many repairs and improvements we’ve made to the pool area.

Speaking of gathering at the pool, we want to be sure that you’re aware that the pool pavilion can be rented for birthday parties, game nights, scout meetings, etc. This is a great, inexpensive way to host gatherings outside of your home and the proceeds go towards upgrades to the pavilion and pool deck area. You can easily check for available times and make reservations right on the RMCG website: https://www.rmcg.org/pool-pavilion-rental

Also, the tennis courts were resurfaced recently, and we added Pickleball lines and nets (which can be rolled into place as needed) this past fall! We plan to have the lights operational again this year to enjoy playing in the cooler evening temperatures.

We need as many members as possible so that we can keep up with maintenance and improvements (more on that later).  Even if you don’t plan to use the recreation facilities this year, donations of any amount are welcome using the “Donate” button on the website.  Thanks for your support!

Registration is quick and easy on our website. Sign up or donate now at: https://www.rmcg.org/join

Many members have enjoyed our monthly payment plans:

• $37 per month for Pool, Tennis, and Groundskeeping. 9 months of fees must be paid up by May to receive your key.

Also, feel free to pay the lump sum amounts with our traditional plans via check:

• $460 for access to pool, tennis, and groundskeeping fees or

• $75 for just groundskeeping fees for upkeep of our entrances and common spaces.

Checks can be mailed to:

Trick-or-Treating

Halloween is almost here! We’re encouraging everyone who celebrates the holiday to make Trick or Treating into more of a community event by setting up in your driveway or yard so that it’s easy for trick-or-treaters to know which houses are participating. This provides easy access to candy for small children and those who aren’t as physically able as others. This also makes it more fun for everyone involved as we’re all able to see each other, smile and wave, and maybe even chat a bit. This can be made more enjoyable by inviting some neighbors over to enjoy the evening around a fire pit.

We've scheduled this for 6:30-8:30 so that people don't have to commit to being out in their driveway all evening. However, you’re welcome to join in however works best for your schedule.

We're looking forward to a great Halloween, and hope to see everyone on October 31st!

Hello Summer! Neighborhood-Wide Pool Party

The weather is warming, and the pool has been open for a few weeks. It has been great to see so many of you already enjoying it. As we welcome summer, we would also like to welcome all neighbors to come check out the pool and all the hard work that has gone into making this space more enjoyable.

On June 4 from 11am – 3pm we’ll be saying Hello to Summer!

Everyone is invited to join us. You do not have to be a member to come by and enjoy some food fresh off the grill and cool off in the pool for an afternoon, but it is not too late to join! Become a member and you can enjoy the benefits of membership throughout the whole year. It’s easy to join today by going to www.rmcg.org/join.

We’ll provide the hamburgers and hot dogs and soft drinks/water, and the RMCG Women’s Association will be hosting an ice cream bar. Just bring a snack or side to share if you can and come meet your neighbors.

Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-Treating

Many people have expressed that last year was the best Halloween Trick-or-Treating experience they’ve ever had. Therefore, we’re encouraging everyone to join us again by setting up tables or blankets in your driveway or yard so that it’s easy for trick-or-treaters to know which houses are participating. This provides easy access to candy for small children and those who aren’t as physically able as others. This also fosters community as we’re all able to see each other, smile and wave, and maybe even chat a bit. You might also consider inviting some neighbors over to enjoy the evening around a fire pit.

We've scheduled this for 6:30-7:30 so that people don't have to commit to being out in their driveway all evening. However, if you're willing to go longer, there will probably still be trick-or-treaters till later in the night.

Remember to stay safe and practice social distancing when possible. We're looking forward to a great Halloween, and hope to see everyone on October 31st!

Here's a video we made last year with some ideas about how to quickly and easily set up so that trick-or-treaters can get candy while practicing social distancing and keeping germ transmission to a minimum: https://youtu.be/lr7kwZHNWAg

Neighborhood Dumpster Clean Up Day

Neighborhood Dumpster Clean Up Day

Good news! The City of Duluth has agreed to bring dumpsters to our neighborhood on April 17th. This is a great opportunity to get rid of the clutter that’s built up in your garage, basement, and storage shed.

Dumpsters will be located at:
• 3827 Coachman Lane (near the Pool/Tennis area)
• 3748 Rogers Cove (near the front of Rogers Mill)

Feel free to bring anything you’d like to dispose of, with the exception of paint, chemicals, sprays, tires, and other hazardous waste. Please be prepared to dump items directly into the dumpster.

IMPORTANT: Large furniture (mattresses, rolls of carpet, full size appliances, couches, etc.) will NOT be allowed, as these items would fill up the dumpsters too quickly. However, Republic Services will pick up such large items. Just call Republic Services at least 24 hours ahead of time at 678.963.2800, attach a Duluth Trash Bag to the item, and put it by the curb.

Bill Aiken from Duluth Planning and Development will have his city truck here to assist neighbors with hauling away metal items to Public Works to save space in the dumpsters for smaller items. He is also providing pizza for lunch. Thanks to Bill and the City of Duluth!

Trick-Or-Treating

Happy October! Some have been wondering if our neighborhood will do trick-or-treating due to the pandemic. While this has been an unusual year, we still want to ensure the kids have a great Halloween. For those of you who normally hand out candy, there are creative ways to participate this year. There are lots of ideas online, but many of them require extra materials and time, so we thought we’d put together a video with a quick and easy way to provide a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience for our neighborhood children.

We've scheduled this for 6:30-7:30 so that people don't have to commit to being out in their driveway all evening. However, if you're willing to go longer, there will probably still be trick-or-treaters till later in the night.

Remember to stay safe, practice social distancing, and keep your mask handy in case there’s a situation where social distancing isn’t possible. We're looking forward to a great Halloween, and hope to see everyone on October 31st!
